But you don’t have to do that. Instead, group all the furniture pieces together, so they can be used in harmony, and leave more space around the grouping. This will give off the same contemporary décor effect you were hoping for, but also let your furniture be used for what it was intended. Instead of looking at that contemporary console table, you can actually put a drink on it. Instead of seeing a book across the room on the coffee table, you can open it.

Grouping in contemporary décor is important. After all, you want the look, but also need to remember the importance that contemporary furniture is not doing its job if it's not usable. And with contemporary console tables, you have both.
